The exhibition context of ‘VARIOUS DIVERSIONS : Different, Potential, Flowing’ is the process of returning to a vibrant individual narrative after the fragmentation of a grand social narrative.
The exhibition presents two dimensions of consideration: First, the exhibition is completed under the influence and intervention of many conditions and paths, where conditions are both a restriction and a space for creative ideas; Second, the exhibition is a mixture of many different paths, i.e. many different elements of different artists. Each artist has his or her own unique path, his or her own ability and vision to see the world, and “The Divergent Paths” is a collective presentation of these paths. There are no symbolic works of the times here, but rather a collection of many “solitary works”, namely the individual spirit of the “ego”, some of the most direct responses.
“…… comes to suggest what has not yet been presented, what will happen, in the depiction of semantic ambiguity puns.” — Xue Ruozhe
“Shells and vessels.” — Feier Yu
“My sculptures are the DNA of a unique form of work generated by interweaving the characteristics of complex and huge natural life forms with the mechanized productivity of current technology.”–Yang Xi
“Art creation is like traveling, traveling to the end of the water, sitting and watching the clouds rise.” — Hu Qingtai
“‘Button’ and ‘clasp’, both independent of each other while activating each other; I use it as a metaphor for many relationships, materials and materials, sentences and sentences, propositions and arguments.” — Shao Jie
“The sun is the closest star to us.” — Hao Jingfang & Wang Lingjie
“Working with photographs as material always dwells on concrete objects, and my work eventually becomes how to tear apart the concrete image and put something else in the cracks. Resisting the image becomes the focus of my work.” — Bu Yunjun
“What is missed and what is caught have their own beauty; the eternity of art is about countless moments in time.” — Xu Danqing
“If I am surreal, it doesn’t mean I have to create surreality. My body is surreal, my organs are surreal, and everything I hear and see is surreal. We seem to be in the same environment but not in it.” –Pengpeng Li
“The childlike greed of watching the world and the greed of leaving traces of my own visual translation may be the destiny of my choice of painting even today.” –Shi Yiran
